The Ukrainian Association of Startups is proud to announce the winners of the competition for the selection of a site for the creation of an innovation park CreaInnovations Valley. The purpose of the competition was to select the most promising location for the construction of an innovation hub, which will stimulate the development of Ukraine’s innovation ecosystem, attract investments and increase the competitiveness of the region.
Participation and selection process
8 applications from territorial communities, universities and already existing industrial and scientific parks of the Kyiv region were submitted to the competition. The team of experts of the Ukrainian Association of Startups carefully evaluated each application according to criteria that included:
- Area and potential for territory expansion;
- Availability of the necessary infrastructure;
- Support of local authorities;
- Development plans and readiness to cooperate with investors.
According to the selection results, the three most promising applications were selected for the next stage – interviews. After interviews with representatives of each location, our experts found that the two locations have unique advantages that are equally important for the innovative development of Ukraine.

Bucha Techno Garden Industrial Park
First of all, the industrial park is located in the Buchansky district, which is a symbol of the resilience of the Ukrainian people during the period of Russian occupation.
The park offered excellent infrastructure, convenient transport links and strong support from local authorities. The territory of the park meets all the requirements for placing an innovation hub, has a large enough area for expansion, as well as the ability to connect to all necessary communications.
“Bucha Techno Garden” promises to become an ideal environment both for large international technology companies and for Ukrainian startups and innovative enterprises that need convenient access to the capital of Ukraine, infrastructure and high-quality support from on the part of the National Universities. The park also actively supports the UAS program for the development of startups, providing already developed opportunities, partnerships and specialized services.

Plant “TOCHMASH” (Pereyaslav)
First of all, this complex is located in Pereyaslav, Kyiv region, which is a symbol of Ukrainian identity, one of the oldest and largest cities of Kyivan Rus — first mentioned in 907.
TOCHMASH plant in Pereyaslav was created on the basis of the military industrial complex of the times of the Soviet Union. It is one of the leading manufacturers of worm gearboxes and gearmotors in Ukraine. Having more than 25 years of work experience and own foundry, procurement, mechanical, assembly production, which allows to ensure a closed production cycle.
The participant suggested a slightly different, but no less important, approach. This facility provides significant potential for transformation into an innovative center of industrial and scientific and technological research. The large territory of the plant with the existing production infrastructure, powerful power supply and strategic location provides an opportunity to develop an innovation park that will focus on the development and implementation of innovations in industrial and agricultural technologies.
Thanks to this partnership, the TOCHMASH plant can become an important platform for Ukrainian and international startups focused on Industry 4.0, robotics, the latest materials and processing, processing and production technologies.</ span>
Double victory for the Innovative Ecosystem of Ukraine
Taking into account the unique advantages of each of the selected locations, the team of the Ukrainian Startup Association decided to appoint two winners of the competition. This approach provides a wider coverage of innovative development, where “Bucha Techno Garden” will become a center for the latest technologies aimed at startups and digital solutions, and “TOCHMASH” in Pereyaslav will focus on industrial and agricultural innovations and engineering developments.
